Piaggio India is all set to launch its limited-edition model, Vespa Racing Sixties tomorrow in India. The scooter was showcased at the Auto Expo this year. Furthermore, it will share its mechanicals with the updated SXL 150. However, the scooter will get cosmetic changes that are inspired by racing liveries from the 1960s. The two-wheeler is expected to be Rs 5,000 more premium than the SXL 150. It will likely be priced at around Rs 1.3 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Upfront, it gets new LED headlight. The smoked windscreen sits above it. The base color of the scooter is white. It will feature red and gold graphics towards the front and on the sides. The Special Edition will ride on gold-colored wheels. The seat of the scooter gets white-colored piping. The headlight surrounds, mirrors, and exhaust shields are all finished in matte black. Furthermore, the Racing Sixties will also come equipped with an under-seat light and a USB charger. There will also be analog-digital instrument cluster that will display a host of information like fuel, trip, odometer, and speedo.

Since this scooter is based on Vespa SXL 150, it will draw its power from a 150cc, three-valve, fuel-injected engine that will churn out 10.4 bhp power and 10.6 Nm torque. The powerplant will be linked to a CVT gearbox. As for the suspension setup, it will get single sidearm upfront and four-way adjustable shock absorber towards the rear. Braking duties will be taken care of by a 200mm disc in the front while the rear will stand to provide a 140 mm drum.
